Meet Our Staff

Kristie Newborn

Kristie Newborn is our Autism Support Specialist at North Hills. Kristie attended Henderson State University and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Technology. She is a licensed Medical Technologist. Kristie has introduced a new program (STAR) to our center that is being used by public schools, early childhood, elementary and secondary teachers, related services providers and instructional assistants. Kristie feels that it is not the child's inability to learn when having ASD, but the ability of not being able to communicate and interact that causes their frustration, which causes their behavioral disruptions. Kristie has been employed by North Hills Services since August of 2008. She lives in Sherwood with her husband and two children.

Amanda Griffin

Amanda Griffin is our Classroom Program Coordinator who works closely with our therapists on providing sensory diets for our children. Some of the techniques she uses include brushing, listening therapy and other sensory concerns the child may need. Amanda will also be working under the guidance of Kristie Newborn implementing the STAR Program. Amanda attended Troy University in Alabama were she received her Bachelor's of Science in Education and received her Master's degree at Arkansas State University in Educational Theory & Practice. She has taught in the public schools and is certified to teach elementary and middle schools. Amanda lives in Sherwood with her husband and 2 children.
